How to properly grow
How to properly grow
Cress doesn't require special growing conditions and can be grown at home. Here are the main points to consider:
- substrate - a special mixture for microgreens, coconut fiber, perlite, vermiculite, fabric, paper, or even hydroponics;
- temperature - in the range of 18 - 25 °C, without drafts;
- light - sufficient for photosynthesis and development of green mass, optimally 12-16 hours a day;
- watering - if necessary, to keep the substrate slightly moist.
Cress has the highest concentration of nutrients and flavors 7-10 days after sowing, when the sprouts reach a height of 10-15 cm and have 2-4 true leaves. Use immediately after cutting or store in the refrigerator in an hermetically sealed package for no more than 3-5 days.
